Qualifications & experience
- Degree qualified with proven experience (5+ years) in manufacturing management, ideally with experience of Lean and Six Sigma • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues
- Familiarity with CNC machining processes and assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and small- medium batch manufacturing principles.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems
Tasks & responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, including machining, assembly, and testing of hydraulic valves and manifolds.
- Manage the generation of production schedules to meet customer demand while maximising resource utilisation and minimising lead times.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components required for production.
- Effectively utilise a modern ERP system to monitor production metrics, such as yield, throughput, and quality, and take corrective actions to achieve targets. Analysing real-time data to identify trends, anticipate issues, and make data-driven decisions.
- Control the shop floor transition from the current MRP system to a modern ERP system, including careful and thoughtful management of the significant cultural adjustments including the drive towards the Digital factory and a mentor to the team during this shift to modernisation.
- Manage all plant maintenance and servicing activities, including tooling requirements, to ensure no machine downtime and Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and drive the OH&S team and Return to Work activity.
- Identify process improvement and cost reduction opportunities and lead initiatives to implement small-medium batch manufacturing principles whilst collaborating with engineering and design teams to optimise product designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to foster their professional growth and development.
