Directly responsible for:
Coordinating the overall activities and driving the performance of the departments to ensure quality and customer service performance indicators are achieved; Optimising the use of resources to minimise cost and maximise efficiency; Ensuring compliance with relevant company policies / procedures and legislation through the provision of strong leadership and direction.
General Responsibilities:
- Recommending departmental / plant requirements and implementing changes to meet organisational goals
- Directing the activities of Noodles related departments to ensure customer orders are received in full on time; and agreed production levels and quality standards are maintained / improved.
- Assisting with developing and implementing manufacturing strategies to identify and improve production processes.
- Ensuring the internal quality standards for all products manufactured comply with HACCP principles, including good manufacturing practices and site sanitation programs.
- Implementing production team development plans, including shift communication, shift organisation and improvement initiatives.
- Liaising and planning with Maintenance Department to ensure preventative, breakdown and project maintenance programs are implemented to maximise machine utilisation and operational efficiencies
- Ensuring raw material requirements, inventory levels and systems are developed and maintained to achieve operational goals, including the monitoring, reviewing and evaluating of projects associated with the site
- Liaising with Site Manager / Research and Development on new product trials and providing technical advice where required.
- Providing and maintaining a safe working environment and safe systems of work in keeping with legislative requirements
- Reporting of production results and improvement to the Site Manager
- Ensuring sound workplace relations and general HR related functions are maintained.
- Coordinating schedules and rosters whilst maintaining effective employee relations, within the scope of the position.
- Developing and mentoring of staff, including recruitment, succession planning, training and performance appraisal.
- Assist in other projects, departments and businesses as directed.
Qualifications:
- Proven “hands on” management style with ability to think and act strategically;
- Experience in FMCG environment;
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline (eg Engineering, Operations and Logistics)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Project management experience;
- Organisational development and change management;
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
- Broad knowledge of continuous improvement principles and ISO / HACCP systems;
- Intermediate or better software skills (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- General understanding of production planning and manufacturing practices;
