The Position

Midstate Employment is seeking to fill a Production Position for Laucke Flour Mill.

This role is an entry role to potentially becoming a fully qualified Miller.

The successful candidate will commence work in the packing department at the Laucke Strathalbyn flour mill. The successful individual will be trained to operate all packing layouts over time.

Packing operators who exhibit a good work ethic, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude will be considered for transfer to the milling department, where they will enter a structured training program to become fully qualified Millers.

PRODUCTION POSITION

Please make sure all packing and warehouse duties are completed.

Manage and direct all Mixing/packing and warehouse operations.

 MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR SHIFT WORKDAY shifts 7 am-3 pm, afternoon shift 3 pm-11 pm, and night shift 11 pm to 7 am

RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION

Safety

Report any existing or likely problems that may compromise Personal or product safety or standards.Ensure OH&S is maintained.Please ensure equipment pre-starts are completed and any issues are raised immediately. 

Quality

Carry out Practices and Procedures as described by the Laucke Management System.  Liaise with management at all levels to develop Workplace Practices and Procedures that effectively reflect best possible practice, and to help develop the Management System with appropriate documentation.Participate in Management and performance review meetings.Ensure that available equipment and procedures are used.Ensure damaged stock is not unloaded before referring to Production Leading Hand, Logistics Supervisor or Site ManagerEnsure products that are not up to specifications are labelled and placed in the quarantine area and advise Site Manager 

Customer

Ensure packing, weighing, sewing, sealing, palletising and warehousing are carried out to the highest possible level.Assist in all areas as required, ensuring that work is performed as directedEnsure pallets are exchanged as necessary with the correct type and number 

Production

Assist with Mill Start up, Shutdown and Maintenance as requiredEnsure orders are put together according to Load sheets. Ensure product quality is up to the highest standard prior to loading. Ensure that the packing area and the products in particular are kept clean and dust free, and that particular attention is paid to having the area clean at the end of shift. Ensure that equipment is operated in a careful and appropriate manner so as to minimise wear and damage. To provide regular reports on areas of your responsibility. Ensure trucks are loaded, fuelled and tarped for local deliveries as required and trucks for interstate deliveries are loaded. Ensure all goods received are stored in the appropriate area. Ensure rows in the stores are line marked and maintained in good condition. Ensure the store floor is kept clean and tidy at all times, mice baits are placed, and rubbish bins are emptied.

COMPETENCY & SKILLS REQUIRED

All Positions:

• Forklift Licence

• Warehouse Knowledge

• Packing Experience

• Loading and unloading Trucks

• Pest Control experience

• Understanding of HACCP

• Safety attitude and Focus

• Exposure to KPI’s and DIFOT
