Responsibilities:Confluence Water, the Ventia, Downer and Jacobs joint venture, is one of three regional delivery consortia providing services under Sydney Water's Partnering for Success program. Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Water's North region, which stretches from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Estimator based in our Chatswood office in a full-time permanent role. This person will report directly to the Estimating lead and will be responsible for managing the estimating of quoted service and corrective maintenance works and administering the estimating systems and processes.
ABOUT YOU- Mechanical engineering degree with relevant water industry experience in estimating.
- Experience using estimating software (Candy, expert estimator etc)
- Can prepare first principle estimates in person.
- Can prepare detailed cost estimates for subject discipline including take off.
- Able to develop and review subcontractor RFT packages.
- Competent in reviewing and analysing subcontractor quotations.
- Review actual project costs and compare against as-sold estimates to confirm accuracy of estimate.
- Utilise appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates.
- Attend & review cost estimates with delivery team and wider group of stakeholders.
- Prepare basis of estimate reports, ensure estimate is compliant with design, all specifications and contract documentation.
- Knowledge of identification and quantification of Risk and opportunities.
- Review and respond to the client with clarification on the tenders.
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
