Introduction
We are seeking a Production Support Officer to join for the Material Transportation Business Line Division (MTB) of Metso.
Team you belong to
The suitable candidate will be a pivotal part of the Production Support Team in ensuring targets are met. This role is suited to a highly motivated team member, suitably experienced in production order processing, purchasing, inventory knowledge and general administration.
This permanent position reports to the Production Support Team Leader.
This position is located in beautiful Esperance.
What you'll do
Some of the key components of this role include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for ensuring prompt processing of production orders to minimize customer and supply location impact.
- Processing purchase orders, negotiate vendor pricing in line with supply chain estimates and collecting vendor quality paperwork.
- Understanding Supply Chain manufacturing facility practices to ensure smooth end to end processes
- Answering expediting requisitions to internal stakeholders to ensure end customer requirements.
- Develop SAP key user knowledge of transactional processing in line with MTB and Metso processes and procedures.
- Participate in team problem solving and knowledge management
- Target key cost drivers and reduce procurement costs across the supply chain
- Deal with internal customers and vendors to ensure on time delivery.
- Ongoing support to the production team.
- General administration including front of house duties.
- Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office and an ERP system.
- Administration, inventory and purchasing experience, preferably within the mining sector.
- Ability to read engineering drawings (highly desirable).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Understanding of Parts, BOM's (Bill of Materials) and Routes.
- A high level of attention to detail with strong multi-tasking abilities.
- Self-motived, with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
- Diploma in Purchasing or Certificate in Procurement and Support Operations or equivalent.
- Experience with internal sales.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience in purchasing or procurement.
