About the role
Exciting opportunity for a Production Support Operatorto join Loy Yang's PSG team. We aim to be the best and most reliable supplier of brown coal in Australia. To achieve this, the Mine must continue to be a competitive, reliable, high quality and timely supplier of brown coal to its customers.
You will play a key role in ensuring that we achieve this objective.
What you'll be doing
As a Production Support Operator, you will be working onsite in the Loy Yang Mine to support electricity generation across Loy Yang A and B power stations. You will be working outdoors in a hands-on role where you will operate mobile plant and infrastructure to ensure the safe supply of coal. Tasks will include permitting, conveyor system relocations, dust suppression, operational dozing, pipe work installation and maintenance, rail work, cleaning, plant inspections and ensuring that safety and efficiency goals are met.
About You
You will ideally have a trade background, great mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safe operations within a heavy industrial environment, a strong sense of urgency and be capable of hands-on work. You will enjoy working outdoors and being a key member of a high performing team.
What you bring to the table
- An unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Experience operating heavy duty plant and equipment, or relevant skill set required to be effectively trained.
- Proven ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- Be active and energetic to undertake manual work.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Advanced problem solving and process improvement skills.
- The ability to understand training manuals, policies, work instructions and diagrams.
- Boilermaker, fabrication or welding qualifications are highly beneficial.
