DutiesThe Professional Officer will provide evidence-based comprehensive and independent Autism Diagnostic assessments for children and young people up to 18 years of age within the TADS clinical team, in accordance with departmental policy and direction, legal requirements and professional competence.
Period of AppointmentASAP for 12 months
Hours per fortnightUp to 76 hours per fortnight
Essential Requirements
The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.
• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).
Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia; or Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or a degree or diploma in Applied Science, Speech Pathology, or equivalent and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
Desirable Requirements
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• Training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule and/or Autism Diagnostic Interview.
