Program Assistant (Out of Home care)

About the role
In your new job, you will be part of a team making a difference in the lives of children and young people who have experienced complex trauma. You will support the Out of Home care team to recruit, train and schedule staff carers to deliver high quality, therapeutic and child focused services.
This is a permanent full-time role, based in the Perth CBD.
About you
We are seeking a highly organised, and motivated team member who will have:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills
- Commitment to supporting staff carers to succeed in their roles, providing them with induction and training as they come on board
- High levels of computer literacy skills
- Experience in using a rostering software (preferred, but not essential)
- The ability to lead and maintain rostering in a way that is responsive to the needs of the care team and in the best interests of the young person in placement.
- Experience working in community services, and an understanding of staffing complexities within the sector.
You must be able to obtain a current National Police Clearance and Provide First Aid certificate. It is also essential to have a current WA ‘C Class ‘driver’s licence.
A requirement of the role is to satisfy The Department of Communities Record Check Consent Application (RCCA) to support undertaking a Police History Check for workers who have been identified for a role within Non-Government agencies that work with children in the care of the CEO. This check will be completed as the role may require you to provide indirect or incidental support in a young person’s home where you may be needed to induct a staff carer.
