We are looking for an experienced caseworker to support young people at-risk of homelessness as well as lead our mentoring program and supervise a small group of volunteer mentors.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role will support the Team Leader, and will lead our mentoring program for young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness as well as hold a small caseload of case-management clients. The Youth Rezolutions team aims to decrease homelessness and increase living skills, resilience, education and training and overall wellbeing of young people 16 to 25 years of age.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide case management support to young people
- Work within complex youth presentations and support caseworkers, volunteers and students with intervention development.
- Develop and lead a Youth Mentoring program
- Support students and volunteers within the program and ensure they are trained in Saints Care Ltd policies and procedures and the duties pertained to their role.
- Facilitate and develop group work programs/initiatives that align with the purpose of the service.
- Provide an environment that is safe for children and vulnerable adults, free from harm and promoting staff commitment to safeguarding.
- Ensure compliance with incident management, reporting and escalation requirements and that organisational obligations under mandatory reporting, child protection, safeguarding and WHS are met.
- Ensure safety standards are maintained for self and others and all hazards and incidents are reported within appropriate timeframes.
- Adherence to Youth Rezolutions administrative and practice principles including outcomes reporting.
- Other suitable duties as required from time to time to support the service within skill set, knowledge and scope of the role.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Tertiary qualifications in a Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or related areas (Degree qualifications highly desirable)
- Experience working with and supporting young people with complex backgrounds
- Experiencing providing casework support to vulnerable people
- Knowledge and experience working from a trauma informed approach
- Extensive knowledge in child and youth development, homelessness, safety planning and youth mental health
- An understanding of the culture and strengths-based practices
- Knowledge or experience in understanding the benefits of mentoring for young people
- Experience in leading and supporting staff, volunteers or students
- Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in delivering groups or training
- Experience in managing crisis situations with a risk-adverse approach
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and experience in the specialist homelessness services sector
- Cert in Training and Assessment
- Trained facilitator in evidence-based youth group programs

- National Criminal History Check
- Working with Children’s Check
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
