Program Manager - Data Governance Reform Program


About this role
Are you a dynamic and results-oriented individual with a passion for driving transformative change in how data is governed and used across NSW Health? This is an opportunity to join the NSW Health Data Governance Reform Program as a pivotal team member. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and Manage Projects: Take charge of the planning and delivery of critical and highly complex projects and the development of strategies that drive organisational initiatives.
  • Strategic Communication Development and Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to support the Data Governance Reform Program. Effectively manage the changes required across the broad landscape of the NSW Health system, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Performance Metrics Development: Define, establish and report on measures of success for the program, including the identification and implementation of appropriate metrics. Your role is pivotal in gauging and demonstrating the program's impact and success.
  • Training: Lead some of the training initiatives aimed at uplifting data capability, and maturity across NSW Health. 


About You

  • Data Governance Knowledge: An understanding of data governance principles and practices. You recognize the importance of safeguarding data integrity and ensuring privacy and compliance with the highest standards.
  • Data Enthusiast: You have a genuine interest in all things data, possessing proven experience in managing data across its entire lifecycle, preferably including analytics and reporting.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Your ability to seamlessly navigate across organisational structures and work effectively within a cross-functional team sets you apart. You thrive in an environment where you can effectively balance multiple programs of work.
  • Project Management Excellence: You bring a wealth of experience in managing and delivering complex projects within the healthcare sector. Your track record speaks for itself – consistently delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Your excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills enable you to effectively convey complex information to individuals at every organisational level. 
  • Adaptability: Thriving in a rapidly changing environment, you possess the flexibility and resilience needed to adapt and excel amidst evolving challenges.

The NSW Health Data Governance Reform Program is strengthening data governance across NSW Health.  The program aims to unlock the full potential of data for informed decision-making, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving innovation. This, in turn, will lead to improved outcomes, health services and patient experience.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy 
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

  • This is a temporary role up to 30 June 2025. 
  • Please note the selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role.
