YFS is establishing a new outreach team to support growing numbers of people rough sleeping in our city.
If you are a Homelessness Outreach leader, this is a chance to take a lead role in a new service, including developing a great team culture.
You will need to be great at building effective relationships with stakeholders to generate outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.
Every day will be different as you work with others to end homelessness in Logan.
About the job
- Role location: Slacks Creek
- Role type: Permanent, full-time
- Pay range: $111,268 a year with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available
- lead a front-line team of outreach workers connecting with people experiencing homelessness to build trust, provide practical support and link people with the supports they need
- build relationships with Council, Department of Housing, police, other NGOs and health services to coordinate effective responses to rough sleepers in Logan
- support your team to problem-solve and find creative ways to improve the situation for people experiencing homelessness
- contribute to Logan Zero’s goal of ending rough sleeping in Logan through collaboration and advocacy
- are keen to grasp the opportunity to create a new team that fills a gap in Logan’s service system
- are passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness
- have a deep understanding of the circumstances of people sleeping rough and effective ways to respond
- are flexible and responsive, able to adapt every day as demands change
- are an effective leader with experience building team culture and performance
- can work flexible hours to ensure the outreach service can meet requirements for after-hours and weekend responses. The team will have staff working from 6am to 8-10pm weekdays and daytime hours on Saturday, with potential to add Sunday if demand emerges. You and a senior worker will need to be able to provide support across these periods.
