Job description

WorkSafe is Victoria's workplace health and safety regulator. We are also the workplace injury insurer. Our job is to reduce workplace harm and improve outcomes for injured workers. This is our promise to the Victorian community and the reason we exist.

Program Officer - WorkWell

  • $128,755.00 per annum + superannuation
  • Multiple full-time, ongoing positions available
  • Geelong Location - Hybrid (minimum 3 days in the Geelong office is required)

Purpose

These roles support the delivery of the WorkWell Program, a large scale, multi-pronged program that supports WorkSafe's strategic objectives to reduce harm and improve health and safety outcomes for Victorian workers.

WorkWell supports employers to prevent mental injuries and promote safe and mentally healthy workplaces. WorkWell takes a system level, prevention based approach to address the root causes of poor mental health. In doing so, we build evidence and share knowledge about what it takes to influence behaviours and implement systems to create psychologically healthy and safe workplaces.

The program provides access to funding opportunities to test and trial workplace interventions, knowledge sharing opportunities and step by step support for employers on how to tackle common workplace issues with a range of helpful digital tools and resources. Core to our work is the monitoring and evaluation of our impact.

About the role

WorkWell is hiring for multiple Programs Officers and will consider complementary skills in determining the make-up of the team.

These roles will lead the design and development of complex behaviour change programs that enable Victorian workplaces to test and trial interventions to prevent mental injury at an industry-level, as well as opportunities to build capability in psychological health and safety across the State.

Equally these roles will also be responsible for end to end program delivery consisting of contract management and adherence to project schedule, budget and quality outputs, stakeholder management, influencing favourable outcomes, project monitoring and reporting, evaluation and translating evidence into practice.

Key Accountabilities

  • Seek the input of internal and external stakeholders to build shared ownership. This may involve facilitating meetings and workshops and using co-design principles.
  • Facilitate development of program logic models for projects. Following endorsement of the program logic, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope projects and document the purpose, timelines, activities to be delivered, accountabilities and key milestones.
  • Work with relevant internal business partners and external agencies to obtain, analyse and interpret available data required to scope projects, inform decision making and make recommendations.
  • Undertake work identified in project plans and/or co-ordinate with other parts of WorkSafe to deliver on projects. Report on progress against the project plan. Build in review points to determine if the projects or programs are on track or require adjustment.
