Role Title: Energy Efficiency Program Officer
Duration : 12 months with extensions or possible perm opportunity for the right person.(ongoing program)
Rates : $65 P/H + super
- Location: Work from home 3 days - 1 day in Parramatta and 1 day in the city office. (decided each week what suits the team)

About the team The Safeguard Acceleration Program within the Energy Division helps households and businesses reduce their energy use by improving access to the Energy Security Safeguard (the Safeguard). The Safeguard provides incentives for a range of technologies including efficient air-conditioning, heat pumps, and household appliances through to major upgrades of commercial and industrial equipment and processes. Our team is providing stimulus to suppliers and installers of these technologies to reach new customers and regions in NSW.
The role The Project Officer role in the Safeguard Acceleration Program team is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-impact projects that help transition NSW to net zero.
The types of projects you may be responsible for include;
Desktop management of large contracts with Accredited Certificate Providers to deliver Energy efficiency upgrades in targeted areas. You’ll need to build good relationships with these contractors and closely monitor the impact of these contracts on the Safeguard.
Customer and market research to help target the program. You will answer questions like which technologies we should be focusing on, which areas in NSW aren’t accessing incentives, and how can we best encourage customers and suppliers to install energy efficient appliances and equipment.
Work with communications specialists, suppliers, installers and a range of other stakeholders to improve literacy and interest in the Safeguard.
The program has just launched its first round of stimulus, so it’s an exciting time to get involved.
Key knowledge, skills and experience
Essential - Excellent stakeholder and project management skills including the demonstrated ability to deliver agreed outcomes on time and within budget
Essential - Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience and build partnerships
Essential - Sustainability or technical degree, such as engineering or science.
Essential - Experience operating within certificate-based schemes that incentivise Energy efficiency and peak demand savings activities in Australia or globally.
Preferred - 3 to 5 years’ experience in the Energy efficiency, resource efficiency or renewable energy sectors.
Highly regarded - someone with strong government experience.
Australian Citizen or Permanent Residency Working Rights - is a must!
