This is a full-time fixed-term position through to April 2025 with salary in the range $77,396 - $86,029, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.Work with secondary students to raise aspirations and build confidence.Be part of an organisation with a meaningful purpose and impact, improve the outcomes of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.Access discounts across health and fitness, travel, retail, tech + more.Based atAbout This OpportunityThis role will support the broader Widening Participation team and includes event planning and management support, communication and engagement with students and administrative support.Key responsibilities will include:Student ExperienceOrganize and deliver educational workshops and events on and off campus.Administer and coordinate aspects of the Ambassador/Mentor Program, including selection, training, and supervision, while providing guidance to secondary school students on post-secondary study options.Engagement and CommunicationCollaborate with the Widening Participation Team to develop and implement creative communication strategies, including web-based and print marketing, to encourage student engagement.Support the team in creating resources for student transition to higher education and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness.AdministrationManage administrative tasks for the Widening Participation Team, including data entry, database maintenance, and resource management.Utilize university systems for administrative purposes and analyse student survey data to inform future planning, while assisting with budget planning and supplier payments for on-campus activities.About YouCompletion of relevant education or equivalent work experience in Student Services or related roles.Strong communication and administrative skills, including event planning and computer literacy, with an ability to rapidly gain competency in speciality programs like Vision6, InDesign, and Drupal.Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and understand barriers faced by underrepresented student groups such as low socio-economic and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Pacific Island backgrounds.Eligibility for or possession of a valid Queensland driver’s license.Blue Card: Required possession of or eligibility to obtain a current blue card.First Aid and CPR Certification: Mandatory possession or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Medicare Provider Number during employment.You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.About UQAs part of the UQ community, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world.Everyone here has a role to play.
