About the role:
As a Programmer Analyst, you’ll be working with one of the foremost credit card processing systems in the industry, used by banks and financial institutions across the globe.
About the team:
Works closely with customers, business analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive analysis and design of quality technical solutions ensuring alignment with business and IT strategies and complying with FIS architectural standards.
What you will be doing:
- Operate and manage mainframe based test environments.
- Identify and resolve technical defects.
- Develop program logic for new test tools and modify logic in existing test tools and applications.
- Configure technical and application parameters to satisfy client requirements.
- Maintain and integrating new application components.
- Write technical specifications and other forms of documentation.
- Suggest technical alternatives and improve/streamline processes and systems.
- Ensure deployment of system improvements.
- Conduct planning, analysis and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks.
- May participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations.
- May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals.
- Other related duties assigned as needed.
What you will need:
- Experience using Cobol Mainframe and related technologies
- Exposure to Banking and Financial domain is a plus
- Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles, i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development
- Good customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers
- Good verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
- Shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
- Good problem-solving, team and time management skills
- Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas
- Can take ownership, assertive and has the initiative attitude
Added bonus if you have:
- Experience in large-scale credit card processing systems, banking and financial systems is a plus
