It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.About the roleYou will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing exceptional supervision of service maintenance contracts.Duties and skills involved:
- Lead the coordination, development and the preparation of service maintenance contracts.
- Assist in providing advice and training to departmental staff and management to ensure the application of quality contract administration, practices, policies and procedures necessary for the effective management of contracts.
- Together with regional Senior Supervisors, undertake Customer and Contractor operational awareness and feedback sessions aimed at ensuring the effective management and delivery of service maintenance contracts.
- Work with the stakeholders to ensure innovative and commercially viable Service Maintenance Contracts which provide value outcomes to customers, are developed and implemented uniformly throughout the department.
- Undertake the role of Superintendent's Representative of service maintenance contracts.
- Work closely with other delivery sections.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
- Thorough working knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements, principles and practices and contract procedures.
- Knowledge of the following is highly regarded:
- Periodic Preventative Maintenance includes maintaining building equipment (such as Fire Equipment, Electrical, and Mechanical Services) through regular servicing to keep building equipment in good condition and sound working order.
- Regular servicing of building equipment maintains the life of building facilities, as well as meeting obligations under legislated mandatory requirements (e.g. Fire Systems).
