Job Summary:
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Controls Lead is responsible for the comprehensive implementation and management of Project Controls. This includes planning, scheduling, monitoring, and forecasting project costs and production plans to ensure the successful delivery of construction and completion work packages. The role requires collaboration with the Project Leadership team and the establishment of effective systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the establishment of a team and process for the development, review, and approval of construction and completion work packages.
- Ensure detailed planning and scheduling provide usable outputs for the Project team to effectively manage their work.
- Establish key relationships between approved project control systems to ensure accurate scheduling of resources.
- Develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive Project Controls Plan, incorporating procedural and contractual requirements.
- Maintain a planning, forecasting, and progress monitoring process that fulfills the Contractor's reporting obligations.
- Establish and oversee a reliable project monitoring and reporting process in Procore for timely and accurate data collection.
- Oversee the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, analyzing hours/costs expended, changes, progress, and forecasts against approved budgets.
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting to ensure continuous knowledge of the project's commercial forecast, performance to budget, and financial status.
- Manage the development, maintenance, and implementation of schedule control, integrating subcontractor schedules, and overseeing project claims.
- Evaluate and assess subcontractors/suppliers in conjunction with Project Managers (PM), Construction Managers (CM), and Engineering Managers (EM).
- Track productivity and forecast cash flow, manage budget reallocation and breakdown.
- Monitor and allocate rules of credit, and control variation costs with PM, CM, and EM.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Controls Lead or similar role in project management.
- Extensive knowledge of project control systems, planning, and scheduling.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor and forecast project financials.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in project management software, especially Procore.
Education:
- Proven Demonstrated Experience in Construction management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. (Desirable)
Certifications:
- Diploma of Project Mnagment
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is Desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Project Controls environment, with a focus on construction or engineering projects.
