Mental Health Victoria (MHV) is the peak body for Victoria’s Mental Health sector. We work with carers, consumers, Clinical and support services, medical colleges, professional associations, unions, police, emergency services, universities, governments and many others involved in Mental Health.
MHV’s aim is to ensure that all Victorians living with mental illness can access the treatment and support they need to lead fulfilling lives in the community. To this end, we commission research and develop policy aimed at improving the Mental Health system as a whole and its many constituent parts. We bring together Mental Health system stakeholders through state and national events including conferences, summits and forums.
MHV engages in advocacy, the development of public policy, and the delivery of workforce development and training services that build individual, organisational and Community capacity. MHV translates best evidence into practice for the benefit of its members and their staff, consumers and communities.

About the role
Mental Health Victoria (MHV) is seeking a Project Coordinator: Clinical and Community Mental Health. This role plays a crucial role in initiating new projects in line with MHV’s strategic priorities and providing coordination supports in a small, multi-dimensional team. This position carries significant responsibilities in coordinating and implementing an effective community based legislative education program, particularly regarding the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (Vic) 2022. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the program’s success and promote Mental Health and wellbeing awareness within the legislative context.
About the role
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent coordination and communication skills, a deep understanding of legislative processes, and a passion for Mental Health policy advocacy and education.
