With $2 billion worth of projects in the pipeline until 2027 in Melbourne alone, including a groundbreaking $450 million data centre, they are seeking a skilled Project Design Manager to drive their design initiatives to new heights.
Role Overview: As the Project Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end design process, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion. You will collaborate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and external consultants to translate our vision into construction-ready documentation. Additionally, you will support key permitting processes and liaise with internal delivery teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage internal design processes, overseeing projects from concept to completion with support from internal SMEs.
- Engage and manage a team of consultants and General Contractors to transform design concepts into construction documentation.
- Support Development Application (DA), Building Permitting, and Town Planning processes.
- Coordinate with Internal Delivery Teams to ensure timely project milestones.
- Assist with Long-Lead Equipment & General Contractor Supplier procurement.
- Ensure end-customer technical requirements are integrated into our designs.
- Provide support for end-customer design-related inquiries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Proven experience in Project Design management, preferably within the data centre or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of building services and construction processes.
- Experience liaising with contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
