They deliver multiple services, including Engineering, Construction, Procurement and Operation and Maintenance.
Your new role
Our client is looking for an experienced Project Director, looking after their Australian and New Zealand Projects.
The role will be based in Sydney, but requires you to travel to different project locations across Australia and New-Zealand.
The main responsibilities will be:
- Plan, staff, and supervise all assigned work activities through site construction managers and subcontractors.
- Coordinates with the engineering team to plan the design and installation of the product and related items
- Review the contract documents to ensure compliance with all required provisions during the pre-construction period
- Working with the Contract Manager to resolve contract issues and maintain contract compliance for both owner-facing and subcontractor-facing agreements
- Arranges directly or through subcontractors for the necessary site logistics
- Work closely with the Construction Manager for oversight of contractors and trades
- Issues project progress reports and communicates proactively with team members
- Check the subcontractors' progress reports and validate their associated payment requests
- Enforce quality control programs
- Manage customer audits and inspections
- Provides main day-to-day customer interface and point of contact
- Develop project schedules for the execution of the work within the project milestones
- Schedules the delivery of products; schedules and coordinates the installation of the product with the customer, subcontractors, and inspectors
- Ensures that all ongoing project records and logs are up-to-date and closed at the end of the project
- Provides feedback to project development and operations teams
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, architecture engineering, or any related field
- Proven work experience in Project Management, especially on large-scale projects, with construction experience
- Solar PV experience on commercial or utility-scale projects,
- Advanced knowledge of Project Management processes, means, and methods
- Vast knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Understanding all facets of the construction process
- Experience with electrical systems and wiring
- PMP certificate
- Familiarity with project management software packages (Ms Project, Primavera etc.) is an asset.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resource management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
