As an ISR Project Director in DDG you will lead the delivery of cutting edge technology and dive into the world of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and geospatial intelligence systems. As an EL 2 Project Director, you will use your extensive experience and project management expertise to successfully lead integrated and regionally dispersed workforces responsible for the delivery of ISR or Geospatial Intelligence ICT projects for the Australian Defence Force. You will lead and contribute to significant technology changes and business transformation elements for Defence ICT capabilities and systems.
The roles require extensive stakeholder engagement and will suit candidates who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
About our Team
These key leadership positions report to the Assistant Secretary Integration and Automation Delivery within the Defence Digital Group (DDG). Working within DDG, you will be contributing your extensive expertise to some of the most technically demanding and complex ICT transformation projects.

Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive knowledge of and experience in leading and delivering complex ICT projects, you will think strategically and work collaboratively across Defence, and be a strong team player focused on achieving successful and effective outcomes.
You will have highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to lead geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of Defence strategic outcomes. As an EL 2 Project Director you will:
- Manage the delivery of one or more complex ICT projects, to meet agreed capability outcomes within approved timeframes and budget;
- Manage all aspects of project activities including finance, contracts and procurement, technical, risk, schedule, workforce and industry relationships;
- Evaluate project performance against critical success factors and leading indicators, recommending changes where necessary;
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, business sponsors and service providers;
- Practice inclusive leadership and collaboration, providing leadership and direction to multi-disciplinary ICT project teams comprising public servants, ADF members, contractors and vendor staff;
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare high quality and well-considered reports, briefs and correspondence to Government, senior committees and Defence Senior Executives.
