This role will see you:
Reporting to Steering Group or similar, be directly accountable for the management of programs consisting of multiple subordinate projects in a role that is dedicated to project delivery. Develop higher level program management plans to guide / direct your subordinate project managers.
Support the local Advisory leadership plan resources based on strong knowledge of program requirements. Assist with recruitment of project managers.
Leverage our business processes and further develop structured methodology for project successful execution.
Support our Program Managers and Project Managers in protecting relationships during project change or issues and clarify project delivery strategy and priorities.
Develop, value manage and control projects to deliver agreed scope, to an agreed cost, within the agreed timeframe. Leverage our PMO / Controls resources to apply robust and pro-active controls from a clear baseline to deliver confidence in outcome.
Identify, assess, and control sources of project uncertainty through a tailored methodology of risk management. Align program and project delivery with business objectives, driving high performance to deliver successful financial and operational outcomes.
Champion regular performance reviews and ongoing feedback
Candidate Specification
- You will be an infrastructure professional with minimum of 15 years’ experience in infrastructure, with at least 5 years working as Program Director or Project Director dedicated to the delivery of large investment programs.
- Experienced in communicating with executive level clients and management of multi-discipline teams, you will have deep experience across one or more client groups in Defence, Transport, Renewable Energy or Digital.
- Well versed in recognised industry tools and methodologies such as Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), you be well equipped to provide best practice establishment and oversight of major projects.
- With tertiary qualifications relevant to project management or engineering, you will have proven skills and demonstrated competencies suitable to be recognised AIPM CPPD / PMI PgMP or higher.
- You will be commercially agile, able to identify and mitigate risks, and establish and meet critical deadlines whether working as an independent advisor or in leading a team.
- Your experience in external and internal stakeholder management, will see you positively influence the outcome of key decisions.
- Prior experience with an engineering consultancy would be highly valued.
- Due to the nature and sensitivity of the projects, it is mandatory that you hold (or meet the requirements to obtain) a current Australian Government Security Clearance at Baseline level or higher.
