Role Overview:
As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Project Team in Project Engineering and coordination. From the early concept and design stage through tendering, construction, commissioning to operation, you will ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, and drive continuous improvement in project management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritise safety in all engineering projects and implement measures to minimise risks and hazards
- Lead Project Engineering and coordination, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution
- Conduct design coordination, review, and professional judgment based on company standards
- Assist Project Managers as required, deputise when necessary
- Manage vendors and contractors to ensure strict compliance with contract requirements
- Maintain detailed project documentation and implement quality control processes
- Drive continuous improvement and implement lessons learned at the completion of each project
Key Performance Measures:
- Safety incident/infringement-free workdays
- Compliance with project management procedures
- Quality/non-conformance issues in project deliverables
- Variance in schedules and project budget
- Timely submission of reports
Qualifications and Experience:
- Engineering qualification in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil
- Proven experience in project management within an industrial setting, preferably in oil and gas or chemical storage industry
- Multi-disciplinary Project Engineering & management experience (5 years) in Oil and Chemical industries
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Strong project control/scheduling and budget control experience
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
