You must have a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. It is essential that you have already spent a substantial period with a building contractor as a Contract Administrator or a Project Co-ordinator, Design Co-ordinator, Site Engineer, or Project Engineer. You must already possess a genuine commercial understanding of new build construction projects, with a strong skill set in procurement, contract administration and design coordination. You need to be a good negotiator and be capable of forming solid relationships with stakeholders. They are looking for someone who is technically minded, commercially astute, has a natural ability to identify design challenges, enjoys the devil in the detail and is motivated by deadlines.
