Brunel is seeking to recruit a Project Engineer with a Civil Engineering degree for our market leading mining client, you will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of our client’s projects, with a focus on civil engineering aspects. Reporting to the Site Superintendent, you will lead safety, quality, and stakeholder management initiatives, contributing to the overall success of our projects. Your technical expertise and collaborative approach will be crucial in driving project success in a FIFO environment.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
Demonstrate exemplary safety leadership in all aspects of project delivery.
Uphold and promote company values throughout project execution.
Manage Work Packs for assigned projects, ensuring timely updates and adherence to project requirements.
Liaise with site and Perth-based stakeholders on project matters, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
Attend all Progress Meetings for assigned projects, providing valuable input and updates.
Draft Scopes of Work (SOW) for projects, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
Develop, draft, review, and authorize Commissioning Plans as applicable to project requirements.
Safety:
Take ownership and accountability for Live Infrastructure Risk Assessments for each project.
Participate in Critical Control Monitoring, Plan Task Observation, and Team-Based Risk Assessments for all projects.
Conduct Field Leadership activities to promote safe work practices.
Manage boundary lock procedures for all projects.
Implement at least one safety initiative per quarter to continuously improve safety performance.
Quality:
Manage Technical Query (TQ) process across all projects, facilitating review and providing solutions.
Facilitate Non-Conformance Management (NCR) processes, ensuring timely review and resolution.
Oversee Project Closeout (MDR) process, reviewing contractor MDR submissions.
Manage Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) processes, authorizing and approving as required.
Qualifications:
•Civil Engineering Degree
•Previous experience in a similar role within the civil engineering or construction industry
•Proven experience in culverts, inground services, buildings, and footings within the civil engineering / construction industry
•Strong technical knowledge and understanding of civil engineering principles and practices
