We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong manufacturing/construction and/or civil background. Modular Buildings works experience will be an advantage. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the biggest projects currently taking place in Perth.
About the Role: This is a full-time position which will see you work on one of our live projects.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing site works including design, quality, as well as the corresponding documentation. The Project Engineer will report to the Project Director and be working closely with the Site Manager and team.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for:
- Managing the Quality Assurance systems alongside the Project.
- Managing the ITP process ensuring third party engineering inspections are undertaken.
- Managing the Design process including coordination between in house design teams, supplier design teams and client consultants.
- Overseeing the drawing transmittal and approvals process.
- Reviewing buildability of the works and working with the Project Manager.
- Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications and ensuring that current information is communicated to the site team.
- Identifying design or site issues that may result in time delays and working with the Project Manager and Site Manager to find preventative solutions.
- Interfacing between the Site Manager and leading hands raising queries and RFI’s to the client.
- Ensuring that all site works are carried out in accordance with the current documentation, and the contract Scope of Works.
- Monitoring progress and reporting against programmes.
- Documenting site progress by taking daily site records, completing daily work sheets, QA records, progress measures and to incorporate in the monthly reports.
- Other duties as directed by the Project Director for future responsibilities.
- Promoting and developing a strong safety culture.
Skills and Experience:
- Formal civil engineering or construction qualification.
- Previous construction/manufacturing experience in a building or civil environment (Carpentry and Modular Buildings & will be an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Experience dealing and liaising with Subcontractors.
- Experience working with MS Office, MS Excel, MS Project, and Aconex/Team Builder.
- Initiative and a strong ability to work autonomously, independently and with minimal supervision.
- Be self-driven with the goal to progress your career.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with clients and in house teams.
- Provide support to Management and other team members.
- Must have a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines.
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
- Sound technical ability and able to read and interpret plans, drawings & specifications and can communicate the information to the site team.
- Able to work within a team and learn and develop effective communication skills.
