Job PurposeThe Project Finance Controller - Renewable Energy will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of Sunterra’s Renewable Energy projects, with a primary focus on the Wollar Solar Farm in New South Wales. This includes financial planning, risk management, compliance, and reporting, to ensure the project is completed within budget, on time, and in alignment with Sunterra’s strategic objectives and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis- Develop and maintain detailed financial models for the Wollar Solar Farm project, forecasting costs, revenues, cash flow, and ROI.- Conduct feasibility studies and financial analyses to support decision-making and identify potential financial risks and opportunities.
Budgeting and Cost Management- Oversee the project budget, ensuring accurate allocation of funds to different aspects of the project and monitoring expenditures against the budget. - Implement cost-control measures to minimize overruns and maximize financial efficiency. Compliance and Risk Management- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls relevant to the Renewable Energy sector.
- Conduct regular financial audits and reviews to identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the project.
Funding and Financing- Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, and investors to secure funding and manage the financing structure for the project.- Manage and optimize the utilization of government grants, tax incentives, and subsidies available for Renewable Energy projects.
Reporting and Stakeholder Management- Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, highlighting project performance, risks, and financial forecasts.- Act as the primary financial contact for the project, liaising with internal teams, external partners, and contractors.
Sustainability and Environmental Compliance- Align financial reporting and management practices with sustainability goals, ensuring the project contributes positively to environmental and social objectives.- Monitor and report on sustainability metrics and compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
Experience- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a Project Finance or financial management role within the construction or Renewable Energy sectors.- Proven track record of financial management in large-scale projects, preferably in solar energy or other Renewable Energy projects.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Excellent understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws applicable to the construction and Renewable Energy industries.
- Proficient in financial software and tools, with strong IT skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify risks, opportunities, and innovative financial solutions.

Working ConditionsThe role may require travel to the Wollar Solar Farm site and other locations as needed. Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines and accommodate different time zones of stakeholders
