We are seeking a dedicated Project Lead to manage the end-to-end delivery of critical plant outages and projects. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient return to service of major power generating plant facilities. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of these projects, adhering to stringent safety standards and operational efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all phases of project management, from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Develop scopes, technical specifications and procedures relating to the repair and inspection of generator components such as wedge tapping, generator testing, improvement modifications, stator windings design and manufacture, rotor insulation, retaining rings and all other required materials and consumables that form part of a full or partial stator and rotor rewind
- Ability to work with other systems in power generation such as excitation systems, Automatic Voltage regulation, Protection relays, Control systems
- Solid understanding of Gas turbines and steam turbines in the power generation process, including their operation, maintenance requirements and major components
- Investigate and troubleshoot plant operational problems, as reported by others or observed through frequent contact with the plant, devise and recommend or initiate solutions
- Analyse plant failures and perform root cause analysis
- Participate in factory acceptance testing and visit OEM and Vendor facilities to inspect and quality check the manufacture and repair works of generator components
- Execute and deliver major outage and project work including planning and scheduling to expected safety standards
- Relevant engineering qualifications with advanced diplomas with strong focus on power generation
- WA Driver’s Licence Class “C” or “C-A”
- Previous experience as a Field Engineer or Field Technical Representative with major OEM in the areas of Gas Turbines, and Power Generation
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Project Lead, ideally within the energy sector or related industry
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in power generation or industrial environments
