Q Electrical provides full electrical design and sub contracting services to Clients throughout all sectors of the building environment, including Health, Transport, Defence, and Tier 1 Commercial projects. We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join the team, working on one of our projects in the Western Suburbs.
This role is about managing assigned projects to make sure they are completed safely, on time, profitably, and to the client's satisfaction.
This includes:
- Providing and implementing a strategic vision
- Meeting all contract obligations
- Adhering to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) goals
- Creating project execution plans
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
- Promote safety to all site teams and make regular site visits.
- Direct and manage project development from start to finish.
- Resolve any issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Manage project files, site agreements, and IR-related issues.
- Manage project costs and monitor progress.
- Handle staff training and promote revenue growth.
Project Close:
- Coordinate and complete punch list items.
- Close out projects by reviewing and negotiating claims.
Team Management:
- Coach, mentor, and supervise project team members and contractors.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure proper supervision.
- Oversee the supervisors for electrical and instrumentation installations.
- Encourage safe work practices.
- Manage staff performance, discipline, promotions, and conduct performance reviews.
Project Kick-off (Post-Award):
- Attend various project-related meetings (Tender, Kick-off, Progress, Cost, Safety, etc.).
- Handle all project start-up requirements (insurance, bank guarantees, contracts, material requisitions, site setup, manpower, etc.).
Reports:
- Report budget, safety, and forecast figures to the Managing Director.
- Prepare progress claims, cost reports, and invoices for the client.
- Provide various project performance reports.
- Investigate and address non-conformances.
- Update the Managing Director on project progress, safety, and quality.

About You:
- Project experience
- Understand project contracts
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Sound knowledge of WHS & Quality procedures (ISO 9001 etc)
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Good leadership skills
- The ability to work autonomously and/or as part of a team.
- The ability to meet and exceed performance targets and deadlines.
- An Electrical licence would be desirable but not essential.
