Senior Project Manager role available in Cairns - 18-month contract with a renowned government organisation! Your new company
Hays are pleased to partner with a government-owned electricity company in Far North Queensland. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager (civil) to join their team in this rewarding opportunity, working on an 18-month temporary contract based in Cairns, with the possibility of going permanent.
Your new role
Your new role will be diverse and rewarding. Report to the major works manager, you will be responsible for leading the project planning and delivery of a restoration project and associated infrastructure projects at a hydro power station in Cairns. Working alongside the site operational and engineering teams to plan and execute multiple projects by facilitating the development of project scopes, developing capital budgets and forecasts, ensuring project stage gate approvals are obtained, managing project requirements and coordinating multiple work fronts during execution. The Senior Project Manager will engage key stakeholders in various departments at all levels of the organisation and provide effective project progress reports and updates to site teams and senior management.
What you'll need to succeed
Extensive project management demonstrated experience particularly in the Civil Construction space.
Bachelor of Engineering/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, required.
Qualifications or Certification (PMP®, PRINCE2, Agile or similar) in Project Management, required.
Frontline Leadership Training
Highly developed interpersonal, influencing, collaboration and engagement skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent planning and project management skills to deliver quality project outcomes safely.
Strong technical knowledge of project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Enterprise Asset Management tools, in particular MS Project and SAP.
Proven commercial skills in relation to procurement negotiations and contractor management.
Strong ability to quickly learn new processes and technologies and adapt to changing priorities.
