THE OPPORTUNITY
This golden opportunity presents diverse projects, providing continuous challenges to keep you engaged and enhance your skill set! Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a varied project pipeline that includes construction projects across commercial, education, and agricultural sectors.
Core objectives of the role:
Project Coordination:
- Coordinate project kick-off meetings.
- Obtain project engineering and relevant council approvals.
- Establish and manage project timelines.
- Maintain drawing and document registers.
- Maintain the accuracy of drawings and product specifications.
- Coordinate material procurement.
Contractual Management:
- Ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the project duration (claim dates, supporting evidence, delay notices, extension of times, practical completion, retentions).
- Maintain frequent communication with project stakeholders.
Site Operations:
- Enforce safety regulations on construction sites.
- Engage with and manage required trades.
- Attend live construction sites and client meetings.
Financial Oversight:
- Coordinate progress claims with the finance team.
- Ensure the ongoing financial performance of projects.
Project Closure:
- Facilitate professional project handovers and closing out defects.
ABOUT YOU
You’re an accomplished Project Manager with a remarkable record in commercial construction. As a natural leader, you have a contagious energy and genuine passion for what you do. You’re a true team motivator, propelled to lead projects, inspire teams, and make a substantial impact.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:
- A tertiary qualification in the realm of construction (advantageous).
- Possess a White Card and EWP ticket.
- Possess a 'Working with Children' (ideal) to actively contribute to projects within the education sector.
- Willingness to regularly travel locally (Sydney and surroundings) and potentially interstate (Canberra) for project management and site meetings as needed.
- Recent commercial building experience (essential) and a background in residential construction projects (ideal).
- Previous experience as a site manager or contract administrator is advantageous.
- Exceptional customer service focus and proven experience in adeptly managing internal and external stakeholders - trades, clients, and at diverse organisational levels.
- Exceptional communication skills - with ability to confidently convey thoughts clearly and concisely.
- Tech-savvy with intermediate proficiency with Office Suite and familiarity in project management platforms.
- A consistent professional approach - always setting the standard for excellence.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills - to foster collaborative and positive working relationships.
- Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills - coupled with the capability to adeptly navigate challenging conversations and situations.
