The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our Structures Engineering Branch as a Project Manager Bridge Inspections in the Don Aitken Centre, East Perth.

The Structures Engineering Branch facilitates the management of the state's bridge assets and provides appropriate advice on technical issues. Their main activities include state-wide bridge condition management, inspections and reporting.

You will be responsible for providing specialist management, co-ordination and delivery of the detailed Statewide Level 2 Bridge Inspection program. This will involve ensuring quality bridge inspections are completed safely and efficiently to the approved scope, budget and timeframe. This role will involve the management of in-house staff and external contractors responsible for undertaking inspections and ensuring the provision of the required resources.

You will show leadership by motivating and developing team members and will actively seek improvements.

The role also requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills as consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders around the development, scheduling and delivery of bridge inspections is required.

Your substantial skill, knowledge and experience in:

  • Project and panel contract management relevant to the development and delivery of bridge inspections
  • Interpreting and ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and standards for worksites
  • Managing the development of Traffic Management Plans (TMP's) relevant to bridge inspection worksites and compliance
  • Management of financial, technological, physical and other resources within agreed allocations to meet agreed outcomes
