Project Manager (Commercial)

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role of Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are completed within scope, on time, and within budget. They will coordinate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and delivery. The Project Manager will also be responsible for managing resources, tracking progress, and identifying and mitigating project risks.

Qualifications & experience

• Degree in Construction Management or Project Management (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of EHS laws and regulations is a must.
• Knowledge of the NCC and Australian Standards, the Building Certification process, and an understanding of best practices are required.
• Good and effective verbal communication skill is required given the nature of the work. Written skills are an advantage.
• Ability to write and manage construction programs
• Local experience in Construction Management is a must, please do not apply if you do not have local industry (Construction Management) experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Project Manager in construction in ACT, fit-out, or commercial construction experience may be considered. 
• Added advantage if you currently have AGSVA or AFP clearance.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• To manage and lead the delivery of construction projects to the highest standards within budget parameters and time constraints.
• Communicate and liaise with Client and their representatives as required under the head contract.
• Procurement and contract management of trades and suppliers.
• Ensure the Safety and quality management system is effectively implemented, promoted, and adhered to
• Direct Site Managers in a manner that ensures professional standards, legislation, and timeframes are adhered to.
• Foster an innovative and proactive environment by encouraging and welcoming new ideas and effective work practices
• Liaise closely with the project management team on key issues and initiatives to ensure issues are effectively managed and addressed
• Fulfill all statutory requirements and obligations concerning legislation and quality standards
