The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a suitably experienced Project Manager for approximately 6 – 8 months to manage all aspects of the relocation of a large industrial manufacturing and warehousing enterprise including personnel (approx. 120 staff), equipment, infrastructure, inventory and other assets. Acquisition of additional equipment, assets or infrastructure may also be required.
The successful candidate will manage the progression of the entire project to completion as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Relocation is from the current site in Naval Base to the new facility at Henderson.
Comprehensive planning and scheduling ability is crucial. Previous experience with large-scale commercial or industrial relocation and/or set-up would be desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Manager - Operations, key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the preparation, planning, execution and management of the relocation occurs within specified project timeframes and that any specific deadlines are adhered to.
- Source vendors and obtain quotes for all required relocation services.
- Manage relocation costs within established budgets.
- Ensure sufficient and adequate equipment, transportation, manpower and resources.
- Manage any contract personnel involved in the relocation process.
- Liaise with and provide timely progress reports to senior management.
- Liaise with external authorities and service providers.
- Ensure all related legislative requirements and obligations are met.
- Maintain all documentation and records in relation to the move.
- In conjunction with senior management, schedule and oversee shutdowns and start-ups of operational workshops, warehouses, office facilities, etc.
- In conjunction with the Executive Manager Operations, identify capital resource requirements and prepare capital expenditure justifications.
- In conjunction with HSE Personnel, ensure all HSE obligations related to the project are identified, documented and adhered to.
About You
In order to undertake this role successfully, you will have:
- Exceptional planning and scheduling ability.
- Competency in project management software.
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to manage and direct personnel and contractors as required.
