We are looking for an experienced Project Manager / Electrical Supervisor to join our dynamic team and assist with exciting technical projects
Role
New career opportunities for a Project manager / Electrical Supervisor who enjoys contributing to successful project design and delivery. You will bring experience to construction of industrial electrical projects, demonstrating a successful track record in the industry. Good technical aptitude, exceptional time management, strong computer and communication skills are all important to the success of this role. You will join and work with our established electrical and engineering team and be exposed to varying technologies and industries.
As Project manager / Electrical Supervisor your primary focus is to plan, direct and co-ordinate your electrical work, including crews, subcontractors and resources to ensure jobs are delivered on time, within budget to quality standards. You serve as a primary contact for our electrical work clients. You are expected to gain an intimate knowledge of our clients’ requirements and represent our clients’ needs. In addition you will build relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the development and supervise the implementation and monitoring of Control Automation Solutions’ electrical Works
- Identify Control Automation Solutions electrical work opportunities
- Assist the Engineering Manager with the development of electrical works
- Directly Supervise Electrical resources and monitoring of electrical projects
- Co-ordinate and direct electrical works, ensuring the achievement of electrical jobs on time, within budget and to quality standards
- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports and authorising the purchase of materials
- Ensure electrical jobs data (including but not limited to engineer hours, materials etc) is entered into Simpro
- Working alongside electrical team as required
Provide effective leadership and direction to the Electricians to ensure their activities achieve Control Automation Solutions’ business plan and financial plan
- Play a part of the recruitment and selection of the Electricians to meet the needs of Control Automation Solutions’ business plan and financial plan
- Manage the day to day performance of Control Automation Solutions’ electricians
- Ensure the Electricians are complying with WH&S, EEO, Anti-Discrimination, Employment and other relevant legislation, standards and codes
- First call for any resolution conflict between employees
- Schedule and co-ordinate electrical staff
- Order/purchase materials for job site (note we have a fulltime purchase officer)
- On site decision making
- Track, review and authorise time sheets
- Ensure safety of team members and contribute to enhancing safety systems
- Report to engineering manager to ensure schedules are kept and jobs are being completed on time and within scope
Report on Electrical works progress and delivery to Business Manager regularly
- Provide weekly and monthly electrical work progress and results
Candidate
As the successful candidate you would possess some or all of the following:
- At least 5 years post Electrical trade qualifications
- Excellent Communication skills including oral, written and interpersonal and ability to interact with all levels including internal, external stakeholders and clients
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing of project budgets
- Ability to manage and close out projects on time and effectively.
- Prioritisation and organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and delegate
- SimPro knowledge a bonus
- Reasonable Computer skills
The candidate must possess the following personal traits
- An excellent positive attitude and willingness to tackle complex and challenging projects
- The ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team.
- Great communication and customer relations skills
- QLD Electrical Licence
- Driver's License (essential).
- Willingness to be able to travel and attend weekend work (if) the projects require it.
- Demonstrated previous experience
- Willingness to upskill, train and inspire staff
Salary
An excellent remuneration is negotiable and will be based on the experience and capability of the successful candidate, a company vehicle, uniforms and phone reimbursement will be included.
