FinXL IT Professional Services is a leading IT services organisation providing a broad range of services to assist large Australian enterprises and Government departments to deliver IT projects.
We are currently looking for a Project Manager with Defence experience and NV1 clearance to join our team at a highly regarded Telecommunications organisation.
NV1 clearance is mandatory.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the transition of SATCOM ground station infrastructure into a Sustainment footing. You will be responsible for a small team of engineers, logisticians and administrative staff to help our client sustain a vital satellite communications facility. The PM will also be required to undertake project time and resource scheduling and measure team performance against those schedules. The role will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for continual improvement and identifying opportunities for future growth in the program.
The role will involve interstate travel in NSW (up to 50%).
Key responsibilities:
- Project Management of a satellite ground station within an ASDEFCON framework
- Financial management and budgeting for the project
- Safety and risk management for the project
- Development and maintenance of project schedules
- Reporting, specifically with financial, schedule and resourcing to customer and Viasat leadership
- Supplier and sub-contractor relationship management
- Team management
- Participation in contract negotiations
Skills & experience required:
- 5 - 10 years' experience in Project Management
- Relevant Project Management qualification
- Ability to travel interstate (NSW) up to 50%
- Strong track record delivering projects within the Defence and Government environment
- Knowledge/experience of ASDEFON suite of documents
- Can build relationships across an organisation quickly to align and leverage in delivering accountabilities
- Strong stakeholder and negotiation skills
- Be fluent in English speaking and be an Australian citizen
- Active Australian Government security clearance (NV1)
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislations
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and change in a fast-moving environment
Desirable (not essential) skills:
- AIPM or equivalent accreditation
- Understanding of satellite communications and satellite ground stations
- Experience in preparing bids and proposals to Government customers
