Backed by a strong team of industry specialists working across a range of different industries both within the coal mining and port industries. As a Mechanical Project Manager you will work collaboratively with a proactive, goal oriented team of professionals within the Asset Management Business Unit, managing multiple capital projects simultaneously across the site, both on and off shore.
Core accountabilities:
- Project Manage the planning, safe execution, and commissioning of approved projects.
- Support and assist in developing the capital portfolio.
- Undertake the execution of design, specification, costing, scoping, and evaluation report works that are required for the execution of plant/equipment modifications and infrastructure projects.
- Engage the operation across all departments, including key stakeholders, suppliers, vendors and contractors.
- Actively investigate and implement safety, productivity, and cost initiatives across site.
- Lead construction and commissioning activities for projects and manage relevant risks.
- Ensure Safety, Constructability, Operability and Maintainability is preserved throughout the design lifecycle process.
- Degree qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural accepted) or
- Experienced Mechanical Tradesperson with Project Management Experience and Education
- Certificate IV in Project Management is highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in Project Engineering/Construction
- Familiar with relevant standards and statutory obligations related to the design of structural assets i.e. conversant with AS 4324
- Proficient IT skills in the areas of MS Project, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- Strong communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical and problem solving skills
- Mining/Port industry experience will be an advantage
- Local port facilities close to Mackay
