Summary:
The Project Manager - Pipelines role plays a pivotal role in supporting the Project Management Department Director by overseeing day-to-day technical operations, leading project teams, and ensuring the successful execution of projects within the department. Their role is both technical and managerial, bridging the gap between the department's strategic objectives and the technical work performed by the engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- The Project Manager is responsible to ensure successful execution of projects including facilities, pipelines, and plant modifications.
- The Project Manager will be accountable to lead his / her team of project and discipline engineers and will be ultimately responsible for success in terms of cost, quality, schedule and HSE.
- Ongoing client liaison and communication throughout the project will be required. The ability to develop a rapport and a strong working relationship with the client is critical.
- The Project Manager will lead the communication with the EPCM discipline engineering team to ensure successful project execution. He/ she will run regular project specific meetings and be responsible for initiating, planning, launching, performance & control and closing.
- Have experience with design, bid, negotiations, build contracts, development of project strategy, contracts administration (lump sum, cost plus fee, unit price), pre-construction services and deliverables, and estimating.
- Growth through repeat business and generation of new business is encouraged and rewarded.
Key Skills
- Proven Pipeline Engineering expertise and competency, in particular the installation of pipelines and associated facilities
- Supervision of 5-10 other engineering staff on a project basis
- Extensive experience with pipeline system design and construction
- Lead technical role for the establishment of design specification and the procurement of equipment and piping
- Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff
- High level of initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget

Education and Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. EPCM Environment. RPEng Preferred.
- Minimum 10-15 years of pipeline design and/or project management experience
- Familiar with AS 2885 and ASME B31.4 and 31.8 codes and related standards
- Experience with various Australian regulatory jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations
