About The Role:

The Project Manager (Geraldton) is responsible for the delivery of infrastructure projects and programs, including the project management of medium to high value and risk projects in regional and remote communities.

In addition, as the role also includes a wide range of minor works, maintenance activities to non-residential sites across the Midwest Gascoyne Region and will assist public and private sector professionals to plan, deliver and

maintain buildings for Government.

You will work closely with local industry and client agencies in promoting whole-or-government policies and objectives.

About You:

The ideal candidates will need to be self-motivated and have an appreciation of the challenges that exist in the delivery of building and infrastructure projects and programs, maintenance, and related services. Expertise in tendering, procurement, contracting procedures and project management of residential building projects and programs.

You will have a sound understanding of the operational requirements associated with regional environments and be comfortable with travel across a large and dispersed geographical area.

As part of a progressive regional leadership group, you will have good communication and management skills that can guide and support the local Finance team to deliver the Department’s service outcomes in regional locations. A proven track record dealing effectively with trades, subcontractors, clients in providing a high level of service is also required for the role.

While, the position will operate with a deal of autonomy and flexibility, you will be expected to adhere to the Department’s values, management systems and processes and are required to represent the Department in interactions with client agencies and contractors. Additionally, you will need to work effectively in, and be part of, a positive team environment and culture that is essential to the success of Finance.

You will also be flexible to work in other regional locations across the state from time to time.

Currently there is one (1) permanent full-time position located in our Geraldton Office available for filling. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar regional positions that may arise in the Southern, Central and Northern Regions of the Agency within the next twelve (12) months on a full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
