What's the opportunity?
As part of our strategic growth initiative, Qudos Bank are seeking a talented Project Manager - Strategy to join our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead and manage key projects within our Project Portfolio, with a primary focus on implementing our Merger strategy which encompasses the entire Merger lifecycle.
Additionally, project management disciplines will be employed across other strategic initiatives within the Bank's portfolio to ensure they align with our commitment to executing projects efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What will I be doing?
As Project Manager - Strategy, you will:
- Operate within defined parameters and adhere to the Bank's Portfolio Management Framework. Responsibilities include business case development, gathering business requirements, coordinating solution design efforts, and managing the build, test, and deployment phases of projects.
- Collaborate with the assigned Project Sponsor and Business Owner(s). At times, additional resources and team members will be allocated to support project delivery. Therefore, the role involves leading the team, driving project strategy, and guiding the respective Business Sponsors and Owners through the project lifecycle to successful completion.
- Oversee the Strategy Implementation and Value Delivery function within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, leading a team of project professionals. Responsibilities include day-to-day leadership, guiding team workflow, conducting performance reviews, offering career guidance, and providing on-the-job training. The role may also request or be assigned additional team members for specific project requirements, necessitating the same level of leadership and support.
- Be accountable for delivering governance reports promptly and to a high standard of quality. These reports will typically be intended for senior stakeholders, including Qudos Bank's Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, and other senior managers.
What you will bring:
- 7-10 years' accumulated experience in a similar role or capacity.
- Resilience and initiative: Proven ability to overcome challenges and show initiative in unfamiliar situations.
- Independent yet collaborative: Capable of working independently within set parameters while effectively collaborating with stakeholders.
- High standards: Track record of delivering high-quality work with precision.
- Confidentiality and security: Upholds confidentiality and practices information security protocols.
- Motivated and positive: Highly motivated, self-driven, with a positive outlook.
- Leadership: Experience leading project teams and managing large stakeholder groups.
- Transformation and integration: Background in working on transformation projects and within merger integration programs.
- Knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge and Agile project delivery methodologies and when to apply each.
- Knowledge of the Minto Pyramid Principle and how to apply it to project delivery, problem solving and communication.
