As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing consultants and the design team for new childcare centers and mixed used projects around Melbourne. You will be required to manage and oversee consultant proposals, design and construction documentation and budgets.
This role will require you to have extensive planning and construction knowledge and for you to travel to sites as required to execute the project management function. Managing time and cost is an essential part of the role and accordingly you will be required to work against an agreed feasibility to oversee each project.
Working with an internal construction team, you will be required to support the site team in setting up all aspects of the construction projects including coordinating authority consents including obtaining planning approvals, endorsement of CMP, WMP and any other associated approvals.
Reporting directly to our senior project team, you'll play a key role in:
- Completing project feasibilities
- Managing and overseeing development projects including obtaining all relevant authority consents
- Delivering projects in Melbourne values between $7m to +$30m.
- Overseeing projects through all life cycle phases, including planning, design, contracting and handover.
- Proven expertise in project management of construction-related projects with a particular focus on mixed use or commercial construction
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects within scheduled timeframes and budgets.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication and computer literacy skills.
- The ability to review design documentation and competently direct the consultant team to the most economically sensible outcome.
- Ability to provide clear and concise markups of construction documentation for consultant review and updating
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects all at the same time
- Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in project managing developments within Australia
- A tertiary qualification in Construction or Project/Construction Management is essential.
- Previous experience working through all life cycle phases associated with the design and delivery of development projects
- An individual capable of directing and managing teams and consultants.
- Organised with an ability to manage competing deadlines and onsite challenges.
