Great opportunity to join an award winning Building Company, that currently have projects though out NSW predominately Central Coast / Hunter / Mid North Coast region both in construction and in the pipeline.  

MARS Building is an established Newcastle based builder, operating across multiple sectors of the construction industry, teaming up with both Public and Private clients. Our Projects ranging from Retirement Villages, Heritage Restorations, Child Care centres to Multi unit developments. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Project Manager, to take on some exciting design and construct projects, in the Commercial & Residential Class 2 areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manger to be based in the Newcastle Office.

The ideal applicant will be required to manage a range of Projects from multi residential to Commercial projects, .

As Project Manager, you will enjoy the autonomy, to deliver the project, yet still have an established and experience team around you, to both support & assist when required.

Project responsibilities will be managing cash flow and cost reporting, negotiating trades, QA, project scheduling and programming, submission of claims and OH&S. 

To be considered for this role you must hold previous Site / Project Management experience delivering building projects above $5m plus in value.

You will be:-

• Liaising with clients, councils, financial institutions and building trades
• Managing project costs and schedules
• Providing clear and focused leadership to project teams
• Project planning and execution and managing the activities of design, procurement and construction through regular reviews of progress and costs
• Proposing alternatives solutions to overcome project issues
• Remuneration is negotiable and would reflect the experience of applicants

Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years working on Commercial & Residential projects within the building construction industry.
• Experience with management and supervision of sub-contractors & labour.
• Solid computer skills
• Carpentry trade qualifications
• Comprehensive OHS knowledge
• Ideally come from a carpentry background 
• Strong Structures back round preferred.
• Demonstrated experience as Site Supervisor / Foreman
• High level leadership and management skills and effective team management skills
