About Peregrine Developments

Peregrine Developments serves as the developmental arm of the Peregrine Corporation, a privately held firm specialising in development and project management, closely affiliated with OTR.

With a dedicated team of over 40 industry specialists, we have earned a strong reputation for successfully delivering a diverse range of projects, typically ranging from $50K to $150m in scale on an individual project basis. As a dynamic and rapidly growing organisation, we currently boast an impressive order book exceeding $600m. Our primary focus centres on the creation of high-quality fuel and convenience retail stores across Australia.

We’ve established this company from the ground up. Our emphasis isn’t solely on filling an order book; rather, it’s on attracting exceptional individuals who can effectively bring to life the projects we have diligently secured. Our unwavering commitment is to provide “best in class” developments, and we are eager to welcome individuals who share our passion for excellence to join our team.

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for the seamless execution of our construction projects. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional organisational skills, the Project Manager oversees the entire project lifecycle, meticulously planning from initiation to closeout. This includes developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, as well as monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing proactive mitigation strategies. Through rigorous quality control processes, compliance with building codes and regulations, and the preparation of regular project status reports, the Project Manager plays a key role in delivering successful projects that meet / exceed business expectations, fostering Peregrine Developments' reputation for excellence in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring meticulous planning, execution, and closeout. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Act as the primary project contact to the Senior Project Manager, maintaining regular communication and providing updates on project status.
  • Effectively manage the tender process, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and ensuring alignment with project requirements. Directly handle contract negotiations and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to ensure adherence to project specifications, budget, schedule, and quality standards. Review and negotiate project-related agreements.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and promptly review and approve invoices and payment requests.
  • Prepare regular project status reports for senior management business leaders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide effective leadership and foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.
  • Any other tasks as required from time to time.

What we are looking for

We exclusively seek A-Players to join our team, defined as someone who consistently demonstrates exceptional skills, a strong work ethic, unwavering dedication, innovative thinking, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of their work.

Key skills and experience

  • A sound knowledge of the principles and practices of Project Management databases and software
  • 5 + years of experience as a Construction Project Manager working onsite on multiple projects and a record of delivering great project outcomes.
  • Proven ability to resolve issues and problem solving using a creative pragmatic approach.
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
  • Ability to read and interpret architect plans.
  • Working knowledge of planning and construction codes
  • Proven performance in the preparation and administration of tender / contract documentation
  • Have a current valid driver’s licence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail, well organised and able to meet deadlines.
  • Prepared to travel to interstate regional locations to supervise site work

If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply for this exciting position. We offer an opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
