About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for Project Officers to assist in the delivery of flood recovery works for Southern Ranges Branch within Kosciuszko National Park and other various parks and nature reserves. This program requires managing the available funding to deliver stormwater infrastructure works associated with access trails and public roads.

As a Project Officer you will be responsible for delivering the on-ground capital works and collaborate with a range of staff and stakeholders to ensure completion within required deadlines, quality standards, and at or below budgets to support the achievement of strategic and operational objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high performing team to support asset maintenance within the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

About you

Your passion for the environment, coupled with a strong attention to detail and proficiency in project management and procurement will be key to your success in this role. You will possess strong critical thinking and communication skills which allow you to identify risks and make good decisions. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to work with stakeholders to achieve program and project outcomes whilst exercising sound judgement and discretion.

Essential requirements

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
• Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
