We are seeking to recruit Project Officers for our Inclusion Infrastructure Unit (IIU).
The IIU is part of the Programs Branch in the Asset Management Division of the VSBA.
It delivers inclusive school environments by making reasonable adjustments to school facilities for students and staff with a disability, along with providing essential unforeseen maintenance repairs. These programs ensure that assets remain safe and inclusive for staff, students and communities.
The role of a Project Officer within Inclusion Infrastruction Unit is to support the delivery of infrastructure projects by:
- supporting the delivery of the Emergency Maintenance (EMP) and the Accessible Buildings (ABP) programs.
- coordinating all aspects of execution across the project lifecycle from feasibility, through to tendering, to project close to ensure expectations are understood and agreed, the program is maintained, key milestones are met, and that delivery, performance and financial targets are achieved.
- collaborating with internal and external teams on a range of matters, such as planning, design, legal and communications.
- assisting in the establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with diverse stakeholders in order to manage risks and resolve issues impacting project delivery.
- providing clear and timely advice and reporting on project planning, project delivery status, benefits and outcomes for a range of stakeholders, including Ministers, the Secretary, senior officers and project teams.
- Support the Unit and Branch as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- knowledge and experience in the planning, execution, coordination and delivery of projects
- excellent communication and liaison skills and be able to engage with internal and external stakeholders
- an understanding and experience of public sector infrastructure funding and delivery systems is desirable but not essential.
The position is based at 33 St Andrews Place, East Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements available. It is a fixed term, two year position.
