Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Project Officer (Administration), Sciences Department, to provide administrative support to the Head of Sciences, and to coordinate the administration of the Sciences Department.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The primary responsibility of the Project Officer is the effective administrative operation of the Sciences Department through the provision of efficient and timely administrative systems, financial monitoring and management, communication with internal and external stakeholders, staff instruction and training, and project support for Departmental activities.

NOTABE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative support to a senior manager while observing confidentiality and protocols.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to use initiative, work under pressure with minimal supervision, set priorities, generate innovative solutions, and meet competing deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to appraise changing Departmental requirements and develop appropriate administrative systems and procedures.
• Well-developed liaison and communication skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, students and associates working at all levels of Museum Victoria, and external stakeholders.
• High standard of administrative and computing skills, including advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Records Management systems, and experience in gathering data and undertaking research using internal and external data sources.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and be

 assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).

The successful applicant will have high level computing and communication skills.

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a full time; ongoing position. The salary on offer is $74,580 (pro rata) + 11% superannuation.
