The Opportunity
An exciting new position, responsible for project managing a diverse range of services and projects which support community participation in the arts, increase the connection between local artists and Council, and directly address the priorities expressed in Igniting Creativity in Moonee Valley 23-27.
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage projects such as public art installations, performances and activations, the Arts Shed initiative and residencies
- Work collaboratively with staff across the Arts Unit to ensure the completion of tasks related with projects, drawing on the expertise and resources from across the three systems (performing arts, visual arts, events and festivals).
- Draw upon existing relationships as well as developing partnerships with local community, business, and other stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of Igniting Creativity
- Manage relevant capital and operational budgets, including contributing to developing business cases, developing plans and timelines and be responsible for implementation and regular
- Actively identify and seek external grant funding opportunities to support the arts and local artists within Moonee Valley, and work with the Council grants team to promote internal opportunities
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Arts and Cultural Management, or a related discipline or lesser formal qualifications with work skills and relevant experience
- Excellent project management skills in coordinating activities and projects within set budgets, goals and objectives
- Demonstrated experience of working productively with artists and creatives and a good understanding of the arts and culture industry
- Experience in identifying external partnerships and funding opportunities, preparing funding applications and organising events or activations
