Developing East Arnhem Limited (DEAL) is an independent not-for-profit organisation established to attract and facilitate investment and to support business development opportunities in East Arnhem, working closely with Yolŋu Traditional Owners and other key stakeholders.
Your new role
In this role you will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable economic growth in the region, working with Gumatj Corporation and reporting to its COO.Gumatj Corporation is progressing a range of different projects across a variety of sectors with third party investment proponents on Gumatj traditional lands in East Arnhem. You will manage this portfolio of projects on behalf of Gumatj Corporation, working closely with investment proponents and key stakeholders. You will play a critical role in representing the interests of Gumatj Corporation and Traditional Owners in driving these projects forward, including:
Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of a diverse range of projects across various sectorsAssessing business cases and project risksSupporting proponents in seeking relevant approvals and consents Assessing project execution and delivery plansMonitoring project risks and mitigation measuresMonitoring project timelines and critical pathsManage interdependencies between projectsProvide regular reporting to the Gumatj COO and the Gumatj BoardFostering close relationships with investment proponents and their delivery teams What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:
Solid experience in managing projects at each stage of a project life-cycle (i.e. from concept to execution/delivery), and the roles and responsibilities of parties involved in project delivery Strong business development / commercial acumenStrong analytical skills, a data-driven approach to decision-making and the ability to develop, assess and challenge business casesSolid understanding of project drivers (external and internal)The ability to think laterally, and a proven track record of problem-solving and optimising in real time, and finding creative solutions to project related challengesThe ability to manage multiple competing prioritiesExcellent communication and negotiation skillsA proven ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with multiple and diverse stakeholders.Proven track record of delivering tangible outcomesKnowledge of the historical, social and cultural contexts of indigenous communitiesBachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related fieldA minimum of three (3) years of experience in Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Project Portfolio Management or a similar role/sWhat you'll get in return.
