Focus of the Role

The Project Staging Technician will work heavily with Telstra Enterprise team ensuring the work Telstra does for our customers is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

We work flexibly at Telstra. However, the nature of this role requires onsite reporting at our site in Kemps Creek, NSW.

What You'll Do

Global Business Services - Field Services provides truly expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for Telstra's network infrastructure and customer equipment. We ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance.

As a Project Staging Technician, you will undertake the efficient staging of mobility equipment as required for our stakeholders, aligned to our current and future technology products and services; exceed our customers' expectations and deliver optimum service, whilst maximising profitability and revenue for the company; and actively participate in a team environment to optimise the experience for our customers, by identifying and driving proactive improvements and assisting with enhancing processes to streamline production and delivery of our technology products and services.

This role is also accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Working on and simplex commissioning ICT equipment to customers specifications which primarily involves the staging of mobility devices both android and Apple, however, could include routers, switches, wireless technology and video conferencing equipment.
  • Managing workload within the customers services management tool to meet SLA's.
  • Working individually or with other teams to resolve incidents within SLA's.
  • Working individually or with other teams to deliver service requests that meet the customers' requirements within SLA's.
  • Updating documentation during changes to maintain accuracy of the ICT environment.
  • Maintain and report the security of the ICT environment.
  • Ensure our stakeholder engagements are actioned within reasonable time constraints.
  • Ensuring customer equipment is accurately recorded, monitored, securely stored, and recorded in the inventory management software.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following skills and experiences in:

  • Knowledge in Telstra SOE applications is desirable as well as capability in general PC applications and hardware.
  • Possess a high-level customer service skill, with good negotiation, facilitation skills and a high level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised, possessing strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise to ensure delivery of critically important tasks in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and to work under tight timeframes and deadlines to deliver required outcomes.
  • Understanding of HSE practices including adopting a risk management approach in relation to managing a safe workplace. Foster positive attitudes and behaviours for quality, safety, and security related issues.
  • The ability to work with multiple and sometimes competing requirements across several domains such as Security, HSE, Workflow and Customer.
  • Maintain adequate operational tools, materials, equipment, and products to maximise efficiency.
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely entry of timesheets, job transaction records and site survey requirements.
  • Ensure correct booking codes are used to capture any project bookings.
  • Undertake recalls, emergency work and planned events, if required.

Please note that Telstra will be having a summer shutdown period from December 22, 2023 - January 7, 2024. With this, applications will be reviewed from January 8, 2024 onwards.
