Branch objectives:
- Provide (a) advice, (b) support or (c) action on complex scheme implementation & design issues that are workable and enforceable.
- Influence the direction of potential new schemes or policies that align with the objectives and functions of the agency.
- Support the Chief Data Officer and the agency to create a data-driven culture that identifies external trends to inform strategic decisions and support business transformation.
- Increase confidence in the carbon and renewable energy markets by highlighting the role of our schemes and understanding the international context.
- To model best practice collaboration in delivering our outcomes.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Support the Chief Data Officer and the agency in delivering the Data and Reporting Strategy to improve data governance.
- Support business areas to improve data transparency under the agency’s open data policy.
Successful candidates may be offered either role based on their skills and experience. If offer is made for the Project Support Officer at APS Level 3, there is the possibility of higher duties and promotion at the APS Level 4 within 18 months of the position being advertised on APSJobs.
A merit pool will be established. The merit pool will be used to fill available positions. The merit pool may be used to fill future and similar positions at APS Level 3 or APS Level 4 should they become available over the next 18 months.
The Data Operations Team in the Data Innovation and Tools section is seeking to fill an APS Level 3 Project Support Officer position. With us, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support the Chief Data Officer and the agency with administrative support in the delivery of projects.
- Support the section to develop relevant documentation, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Guidelines and Spending Proposals.
- Be the point of contact, develop required material to assist in the delivery and coordination of engagement activities.
- Be responsible for coordinating, creating and submitting communication material in support of project deliverables.
- Organising and scheduling the data Community of Practices (CoP) on behalf of the Chief Data Officer, including identifying, booking and managing guest speakers.
- Engage in change management principles to support organisation change in data related products.
As an APS Level 4, in addition to the above duties you will have the opportunity to:
- Monitor and manage the sections mailbox.
- Monitor, maintain and manage DevOps administrative deliverables.
- Coordinating, scheduling and communicating training sessions, workshops and information sessions to support agency deliverables.
- Tertiary or Professional qualifications in Data, Data Governance, Data Management, Science or related fields.
- Experience with DAMA Data Management Body of Knowledge.
- Experience in enterprise level risk, governance and/or data management.
- Experience in developing high-quality written material including briefs, social media, and correspondence.
- Secretariat and/or project management experience.
- Ability to work with data, including liaising with key stakeholders regarding data.
- Sound judgement and show a high level of attention to detail.
- Adapt to change and deal with ambiguity.
- Undertake research and evaluation to inform advice.
- Manage workflow in DevOps to meet deadlines.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders based on professional and courteous conduct.
